The Touareg has had a facelift, and that is easy to see from the chrome-look, shield-shaped radiator grille that is typical of Volkswagen. The redesign also includes the now more organically shaped headlight housings – with bi-xenon headlights with cornering light. The Touareg has new door mirrors and an optimised roof spoiler to improve its aerodynamics.

The Touareg's ABSplus system, developed and patented by Volkswagen, is a world first. It detects loose surfaces such as sand or gravel and shortens the braking distance by up to 20% by means of controlled locking of the brakes. The electronic stabilisation program (ESP) also has some new functions. For example, roll stability is increased and brake pressure is built up as a precautionary measure as soon as you lift your foot from the accelerator.

The sports fan in you will particularly love its 3.6 litre V6 FSI petrol engine which delivers a powerful 206 kW (280bhp), achieving 0 to 100kph in just 8.6 seconds, with a top speed of up to 218kph.
